The Effect of Verpamil on the Protein Binding of Vinca-Alkaloid

Abstract

many Agents including verapamil, a calcium channel blockade, reverse the multidrug resistance to cancer-chemotherapeutic drugs. This study was undertaken proteins. After the incubation of vinblastine or yincristine in blood serum and bovine serum
albumin, respectively, the unbound drug was seperated by equilibrium dialysis, and the drug concentration was determinde by a spectrophotometer. The protein-binding of vinca-alkaloid was not significantly affected by verapamil in the present
study,
suggesting that verapamil has no influence on the transport of vinca-alkaloid in the blood.
